Most doctors are unaware that cholesterol is very dynamic and changes all the time.. a one time test reveals little to nothing yet they seem happy to prescribe drugs of dubious benefit on the back of it.
If he hadn't fasted for 12-14 hours (water only) before the bloods were taken then the results are pretty meaningless anyway so....
