Hi I have type 1 I have congenital heart desese eye problems and now bad arthritis in both hands so when the Nhs said the new Libra sensor kit would be available on the nhs as from the 1st of November 2017 I though great no more trying to get blood out of my bad fingers so yesterday I went to my doctors and asked for this new kit to be told that it was not on the nhs and would not befor about another 5 years I will probably be dead by then so why the hell was it put up in the first place another British cover up so if you don’t have a nest egg put by you don’t stand a chance

Hi i have been told that things like this depend on the gp as they are allocated money when i worked on the acute medical unit the DNS used to come on and i spoke with them once about certain equipment and they told me it depends on gp funding as to what equipment including insulin they will fund for you, i dont know if this may apply to you, have you checked out the NICE guidelines and see if you meet them maybe you could go back or to a consultant at the hospital with this information..sometimes you habe to be a bit stroppy and put your foot down in order to get what you need (thats speaking as a medical professional) good luck hun
