Please help fellow sufferers!!

Once awake at 8:00am, I have 2 wheatabix (NO SUGAR) and a coffee with sweetex (NO SUGER). My oral medicine is taken with this breakfast.

But by 11:00am by mouth becomes dry!! This is after a sugar free breakfast and my medication as prescribed.

Can anyone help as to how this can be overcome?

Welcome to the Forum.

It's not just the sugar you should be concerned about but the carbohydrate in your food. Carbohydrate converts to glucose in your blood and Diabetes is an inability to metabolise the glucose properly.

Two weetabix with semi skimmed milk contain 32 gms of carbs. As these are slow acting carbs by 11.00 your blood sugar will be quite high which could be why your mouth is dry. Do you test your blood sugar levels ?

Here is the basic advice we give to new Diabetics, I hope some of it will be useful.
