This recipe for bread looks very interesting and I may give it a try. I'm not too sure how much olive oil to use as I've never seen a measurement featured in this way. 1dl olive oil. Does this mean a third of a litre of olive oil, which seems an awful lot? And how much did it send up your blood sugar levels?https://nordicfoodliving.com/stone-age-bread/
has anyone tried the above recipe?..ive tried it twice and is easy and very nice but i think it spikes my sugars a bit... probally ate too much.. seems like about 5-600 calories a slice and i cant work out carb content..
1dl of olive oil is the same as 100ml ... deci-litre is 1/10th of a litreThis recipe for bread looks very interesting and I may give it a try. Thank you Bulkbiker! I shall have a go at making the bread today! Though I am apprehensive about it sending up my blood glucose levels.1dl of olive oil is the same as 100ml ... deci-litre is 1/10th of a litre
Pretty low carb.. 30g for the whole loaf..Thank you Bulkbiker! I shall have a go at making the bread today! Though I am apprehensive about it sending up my blood glucose levels.

I've a feeling I've made this - but definitely something very similar a few years back, which I don't recall seeing any worrysome rise from. It's a recipe where you can vary the ingredients or their proportions. and it still works OK.
Carb content should be easy to calculate as all the nuts and seeds come in 100g portions (oil and eggs will be carb free). Add all the carbs together then as @bulkbiker said, divide by number of slices. I use my Windows calculator if I need to work things out.
I've just found my recipe (actually called paleo bread):
100g Milled Flaxseed
100g Mixed Seeds (eg a mix of any of the following : pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, linseed, poppy seeds etc)
100g Chia seeds
200g Ground Almonds
1 Cup Water
¼ Cup Melted Coconut Oil
4 Eggs, Large and beaten
1 Tsp Sea Salt
Robbity

Wow, only 30 grams. I'm a bit like you, probably have one slice then another, and then find I've eaten the lot. But, hey, it's worth a try.Pretty low carb.. 30g for the whole loaf..
I would probably end up eating the whole thing which wouldn’t be good but a thin slice is definitely worth testing for.
If you look at post number 2 on the thread there is a breakdown of how I calculated it.Wow, only 30 grams. I'm a bit like you, probably have one slice then another, and then find I've eaten the lot. But, hey, it's worth a try.
Eating the whole loaf at over 4000 Cals might be excessive.Wow, only 30 grams. I'm a bit like you, probably have one slice then another, and then find I've eaten the lot. But, hey, it's worth a try.

looking at the breakdown so kindly posted by @bulkbiker it probably wasnt the bread that left me with elevated levels ..ive been running higher f.b.s figures for a while which i think is the dreaded dawn phenonemon..i check pre evening meal at about fiveish and normally average 5.2 (5.1 tonight) yesterdays was 6.9 after three hours and 6.9 after five hours..and 6.8 for todays f..b.s..This recipe for bread looks very interesting and I may give it a try.
