At the same time he recommends 240 - 300 grms of carbohydrates a day for a man. Difficult to achieve?
No, not at all. If somebody is following the Eatwell plate sort of regime with 1/3 of calories coming from carbs that could easily be 800 cals to 900 cals worth of carbs per day. They say that as a rough guide 1 gm of carbohydrate (and protein) is about 4 calories, so easily at least 200gms. When I was eating carbs, 2 slices bread for breakfast, 2 bread rolls for lunch and one baked potato for dinner, that was 700 cals so just less than 200 gms, getting up to 240 would have been easy just by adding one slice of toast.
He recommended 200 - 240 grms which excludes the carbs you were eating.
I see. Removing wheat products and sugar products would indeed make it difficult to eat over 200gms of carb. However, there was a thread a few weeks back where a video had been posted of a type I taking insulin, who was eating 700 gms of carb a day, but I can't remember if he was avoiding anything. I would imagine still difficult either way.
