Daughter shouting/screaming, lashing out, staring into space eyes really wide open, non responsive, feeling cold/clammy and very hard to get blood out of her fingers. Finally was to test blood levels which was 4.1. Took a good 10-15 mins to bring her round and bloods now 8.4. Very scary at the time, Hate Hypos hate diabetes..... Does anyone's else's child act or behave like this when having Hypos?
Daughter is 9 years old & diabetic for alsmost 2 years.

Hi there,
I realise it's ages since you posted this, but I thought I'd reassure you that such seizures and fits can be quite normal - particularly in your daughter's age group; I went through the same things when I was her age (I was diagnosed at 6), including one that was so serious that I was hospitalised for a week... but that was the 1970's, so please don't panic! I have met other T1's over the years who have gone through the same thing during the pre-teen years.
However, do make sure you have the following at home: Plenty of dextrose / glucotabs; lucozade/sugary drinks; Glucagon kits.
Has she had these night-time hypos regularly? If so, have you tried a small bedtime snack to curtail them? Have you noticed a pattern as to when they occur, such as during nights after she has been doing a specific activity?
I hope that things have settled down... if not, speak with her DSN!
