Hi,
I'm a parent of one T1D son and another without. The one without is part of a TrialNet study and has been found to have all 5 autoantibodies related to T1D. So he is very high risk to develop it. My son with autoantibodies (but not T1D) has episodes where he seems low, with dizziness, weakness, ashen face, and sometime nausea, so I asked the doctor if these symptoms could be the he has become T1D. He was tested and has low HbA1c (5.2), and no insulin need. So I asked why we might be seeing episodes of low blood glucose for son without T1D. When pressed, he said he's heard from other parents who have a child with T1D that another of their children seems to be having low BGs. Then that child might go on to develop T1D. Why does this happen? Is it related? Does it have anything to do with your situation? I don't know, but I just had to put it out there that having lows before T1D diagnosis, though you might not read about it, was mentioned to me by a very conservative endocrinologist. Might not be correlated but was noticed by several sets of parents of a child with T1D.
I wish you the best.
