Hi when I was diagnosed In 2010 I got given 2 novo nordisk junier pens I also got given the pen mate which you attach to the pen so I dial up and press the yellow button and it shoots in. A few months ago I got told that the junier pens have been discontinued and so has the pen mate. I got given the novo pen 5, which I don't like as I have to stab myself. Where as the pen mate did it for me. I use the novo 5 pen for my levimir as that is only once a day and I pluck up enough courage to do that. I was wondering why has the pen mate and junier pens been discontinued cause if this one breaks I will have no choice but to use my other novo 5 pen which I really don't want to do. Is there anything that's similar to the pen mate? Thanks.

Hello @Damonite

I'm afraid that I can't really offer any good advice, but seeing as you've had no replies, I thought I should.

Have you considered pump therapy? If you were to raise the concept with your diabetologist, I'd imagine you'd have a fairly strong case considering your needle phobia and the issue with discontinued products that assist with your irrational fears. Although pump therapy doesn't entirely eliminate your needle phobia issue; it would mean having to deal with needles (in the form of infusion sets) just every two to three days.
