Can anyone tell me how long it takes for the fast acting insulin Novorapid to work following a meal. I tend to test my children 2 hours after they have finished eating, but I have other friends who test at 3 hours. This is assuming they have a normal meal at home and do not take any exercise immediately after.
Its at its peak action for quite some time. It really depends upon what the purpose of testing is, At 2 hours it is still has some time to 'work' at peak action. I can see the validity of waiting for 3 hours.
