I wasn't aware there were different storage conditions for different types of insulin.
I have always kept all my insulin (Insulatard, Novorapid, Lantus) in the fridge when not using and take it out when I start a new vial/cartridge.
When I am away from a fridge in hot conditions (e.g. on holiday), I keep it in a Frio wallet.
Most modern insulins are the same; they tend to keep for 4-6 weeks out of the fridge. I do believe that all insulins, in terms of storage, should be between 2-8degC when not in use.
room temp I keep mine in a small metal safe, exspecially If you have children using your fidge, if the safe is next to a wall, in my case a exterior wall it keeps the insulin cool.
