I live in Germany and am attending a diabetes seminar. I got a monitor and books etc. The weird thing is that the germans say you should eat lots of carbs and very little fat. Now I fecking don't know what to do. I was concentrating on very little carbs and trying to minimise fat and was doing not too bad. My mmol was 101 this morning when we did the check so I thought that was not too bad. I also read on a german site that pretzels are the worst thing you can eat and in the book it says they have not too many calories and fat. Now I do not know which way to go.

hi, the advice in england is the same, and also completely insane

Something your happy with and able to maintain. Obviously adjust insulin to suit, either low carb or not

Well I have been eating some carbs. I found a low carb bread that has only 6,2g per slice which is not too bad. They say in the book that avovados and olives are bad and most meats etc. I would say that I am doing medium carbs with low fat and it seems to be ok. I would panic at the thoughts of loads of carbs now.
