Hi @Buddyboy1, knowing where you came across the term might help us to give the best answer..
From my knowledge as a diabetic, not as professional advice or opinion:
In general the term means to me: loss of feeling in some or all the fingers of one or both hands.
This might to noted as tingling, or numbness like after having a local anaesthetic at the dentist or doctors. The object touched might still be detected but not as definitely and accurately.
The causes are many (if you google the term) and things like pressure on nerves supplying the fingers, medication, certain vitamin deficiency, diabetes etc can be causes or associations.
I was told I was pre diabetic and have slashed my carb intake and feel amazing already in only 48hrs.
I have had my hands go numb from the elbows down for a long time. Recently starting to get quite painful (think hot ache). It has all but gone in 48hrs of changing what I eat.
