nutritional information query

Hi. Like all diabetics I regularly check nutritional information on packages and I no the carbs breakdown does not always add up but I noted on a health food company's nutritional information it stated 6.6 grams carbohydrates of which 48.2 grams are sugar. It's not a typo as I have noticed it on different packaging. Can anyone shed any light.

Otherwise I wonder if there is some clue in the ingredients list...

I am curious though - what food is it? - I am very nosey.
 
They are a company that sell different types of nuts seeds and dried fruits in packs.
 
It could be to do with the processing of some foods. Like with Marmalade when the process starts the precooked ingredients will be say 5 kilograms of oranges and a kilogram of sugar so the sugar will be a percentage of the total and the oranges will have a certain number of carbs after the cooking the oranges will have cooked down to a fraction of the the original weight but the sugar will not so the percentage of sugar by weight of the finished product will have changed you will have a bigger percentage of sugar. But food labels don't always reflect this as they can state the percentage or amounts by weight of the original ingredients so you have more sugar by weight than the original number of carbs by weight I think but I do find it confusing and so am not 100% sure if my explanation is entirely accurate.
