Nuts Every Meal?

Think I have seen mention that nuts added to each meal helps slow down sugar release and aids in reducing chances of spikes. Any insight please?. For nuts do I assume its fibre doing the good work?. Would beans be same or are they too high carb so adding to the load of meal and sugar release?..
 
Interesting read catherine... so nuts it is then?.. what are best and in what quantity?
