Nuts - of the unsalted and non-oily variety - have been widely recommended as an alternative to snacks containing a lot of saturated fat and carbs.

But which are the best? And which should be avoided?

best way to find whats best for you is to eat and test .. I found personally almonds did nothing to my bs where walnuts sent bs skywards..

If you are trying to low carb then the best are:
macadamias
pecans
almonds
walnuts (higher carb but fatty)
brazils (maybe not too many due to selenium levels)

may be better avoided as they have a higher carb content:
pistachios
cashews

peanuts (legumes not nuts) are kind of in the middle so might be a try and test.. I seem to be ok with them BS wise.
