Bah 3rd day in bed... did my BG and got "Hi" (noticed it dont transmit that to my pump) - i kinda figured id go and check ketones and wash my hands for a retest... i had ketones but only trace and did my bg again 32.8... so i had a correction!

45 mins later i was feeling a bit weird so tested and got another "Hi"... Changed everything, resevoir & infusion set but before i had more insulin, I don't know why, but I rechecked my BG on my hubbies bg machine (OK so it's my old 1 which we buy test strips for as he gets low BG readings) and i was 2.1!!!!!!! I've been living off dextrose tablets for the past hour and a bit

I had this issue when my BG machine packed up. It was New Years Eve and the machine got stuck on one reading, which said I was 3.2, so I treated the hypo twice and then by third reading and feeling very ill I realised the machine was broken

Luckily back then I was on MDI and we muddled through until the shops opened for me to buy a new machine. At the pump course I was given a ketone meter, which can do BG as well. I always have a pack of the BG strips for that as a back up. Scary how much we rely on machines now!!
