Husband is the diabetic, type 2 diet-only. He asked me to post this.
BG before bed last night was 4.9.
Fasting at 6am this morning was 5.9.
Now at 8am, still fasting, it's 7.5.
He's asking what is going on?
Are you thinking it's weird that it's going up without food? You don't need food to make your blood sugar go up, your liver stores glucose and trickles it out to keep us going when not eating. Very often, this trickle increases first thing in the morning to wake us up - it's called "dawn phenomenon", have a search for it.
