Omnipod placement

Hey Everyone!

I started on omnipod about 2 weeks ago. I just put a pod on my leg for the first time and I find that I have been really high since. I have been running a temp basil of +15% just to keep it down . I heard that absorption on the hips/buttock can be not as good requiring more insulin, can this be true for the leg as well? Or maybe is this a faulty pod/canula issue?

hi @Cassandra13
on an omnipod here too
my best sites are arms , then stomach , then upper backside , and last thighs -- only tried 1 once and had not so good bloods

forget the 3 days of a pod life -- if you feel like bloods too high change site -- don;t risk sleep and going higher overnight ( or else set alarms to test through night )

Thank you!!!! Do you use upper and lower stomach (above and below belt line) ?

from about 2 inches below belly button to about 2 1/2 inches above --

my favs are anywhere on upper arm though - bit rubbish putting on deoderant sometimes though -- LOL

Thats awesome! Thanks for the tips! I was going crazy trying to figure out what I did differently or where I was going wrong!

Could be a faulty pod or poor/slower absorption, as @himtoo says just change the pod and don't put up with the highs any longer.

I've only once placed a pod on my leg and like you @Cassandra13 had high bg levels, I've tended to avoid the site since although my consultant thinks I should try my legs again and not be put off by my first experience.
