Can anyone tell me which insulin's are used with the Omnipod please? I use novo rapid and lantus would like to continue using these once Omnipod is fitted. Thanks

Insulin pumps only work with one insulin.
They release fast acting throughout the day as your basal, so there will be no need for Lantus.
I suggest you research how pumps work to understand the value (and frustrations) the Omnipod may bring.

Thanks for your reply. I have done some research there are pros and cons appreciate not for everyone. Its a big learning curve but if I don't try I will never know.

It's great that you have done some research.
The reason for my comment was to highlight that pumps work very differently to injections in that there is only one type of insulin (fast acting) rather than two. Your question makes little sense with this in mind.
As I mentioned previously, the fast acting is taken throughout the day as your basal which gives you the chance to adjust your basal at different times of the day. This is great once your daily basal profile is worked out but can be a huge pain to get to this stage.

I understand why you are asking about Omnipod - the benefit of not having a tube must sound fantastic.
Unfortunately, the Omnipod is one of the most expensive pumps available. For this reason it is not available in some areas.
If you are in the UK, it is a good idea to check what is available in your area.
If you are in the US, it is a good idea to check what your insurance covers.
I don't know about other countries but it is definitely worthwhile checking what is on offer before getting your hopes up.

I am in UK and have been referred by my Consultant for pump. I researched insulins on website and humalog mix plus novorapid were mentioned silly me thought I'd ask the question if two insulins were in use. The reason was because I used humalog mix when first diagnosed and I did not get along with humalog so just thought I'd seek reassurance from a sympathetic forum member. I have already spoken to diabetic nurse who advised two hourly blood tests plus a 3am test too. I dont sleep well so should be OK. Lucky to have freestyle libre sensor too.
