Ophthamology today, shocked and scared

All the best RRB. You're amongst a lot of friends here and I'm sure you'll get a lot of support and advice which may help you a bit over the next few weeks. . The docs can do amazing work in hospitals so I'm sure you'll get through this. Tough time for you and your daughter though and easy for me to say not to worry.

Hi RRB .....really so sorry to hear your news....you are a very kind and valued peron and I am sure that everyone is thinking of you....I send you love and hugs and will only think of a positive outcome for you....so glad your daughter has someone to look after her...but you need looking after to.....you have a lot to deal with right now pease take care of yourself and I wish you all the best at the hospital....let us know how you get on.....hugs are sent to you tc Kat x

Unbeliever, Your words and information have been a great help. My daughter is having a sleep over at her friends tonight and she told her friend about the (possible) operation and the mum has offered to have my daughter during the day and another sleep over, which is such a kind gesture, the girls are very good friends and I know that keeping busy and active will stop her from dwelling on the Operation ( my daughter phoned me). So that's a great weight off my mind.

I will be ok, I know. I'm not very good with surgical matters, especially the eye's, I also have a Cataract going across the same eye, so that might be removed at the same time.

The doctor, on Friday's appointment, said it's nothing I've done and not diabetes or blood glucose related, my blood glucose has been much better lately, but a bit elevated this morning and shot up at lunch time, but back down to 5.5 before dinner tonight.

I will Google Southampton Hospital to find out it's location from the train station.

Been away to a wedding last weekend and then on holiday .
Just back in today - am both shocked/stunned for 'you' :shock:

She will have some girly fun with her friend and be well cared for too .

Keep feeling uplifted and positive RRB - rest up and take things easy .
No stress or worrying - play some soothing music - an idea for you :idea:
Lie back and let your favourite music soothe you .
No reading allowed :thumbdown:

Consider asking for something to help you relax pre-op ?
If you struggle with anything to do with your eyes .
Could your 'D' write down a small list of any questions you may wish to ask pre-op ?
Make a mental check list of happy memories and thoughts to think about during the op .
This can help/assist you get through it more 'maybe'
