Optium test strips

I dont use the xceed anymore. It was my very first meter!

Just a tip though, as you only have one meter it may be a good idea for you to get a spare one in the rare case that the one your using breaks. I dropped my xceed once and the back broke off and it went a bit doolally!

Did the chemist say how long it would take? Might also be a good idea to call the company to enquire that the strips will continue to be available, incase they plan to stop producing them then you can be prepared. Although i can't see them
Doing that as im sure they are quite popular as if im correct they are the only meters that can test blood for ketones.

Always better to investigate these things!

Have you tried some other pharmacies? I had this happen a couple of times with Freestyle strips and the Boots I go to called some of their other branches and found one with stock that they then had brought over.

It may not actually be a manufacturing issue, and may be a supplier / wholesaler issue. As Ebony says, you could call the company.

I got 4 boxes at the weekend with no problems, but maybe I was just lucky? The pharmacist didn't say there were any issues in our area.

Definitely check with the manufacturers, it'll also confirm whether what the pharmacist said was right.

In December my pharmacist handed me my insulin cartridges and said "these are being withdrawn". When I checked, it was some types of pre-filled pens that were being withdrawn/replaced, cartridges not affected. It seems the pharmacist got confused and was just telling all diabetics their "pens" were being discontinued! She meant well but was causing lots of unnecessary anxiety.

I checked with my local Boots, they are having no problems ordering these test strips - so either the problem at the manufacturer is resolved, or it was an excuse!

I'm on these strips and have heard of no problems at all.

Sounds like supply chain or simply an excuse.
