Hi I cant comment for sure whether your pancreas is repairable or not, but I have had my Pancreas removed due to chronic painless Pancreatitis which appeared rapidly just over a year ago , the surgeon initially opening me up thinking he was going to find cancer , but turned out to be a dried up leathery looking excuse for a Pancreas that was not doing its job and had swollen up at the head end and blocked my bile duct, which was my only symptom. Life is fine without a pancreas , type 1 diabetic of course and on creon ( enzyme replacement for food digestion) a bit of a balancing act at times but certainly do able, am back to an active life diving hunting, swimming, skiing, and working as a fulltime firefighter.
