Excellent peacetrain!! Well done!! Happy New year too!I'm just posting to let you know that I saw by diabetes nurse today, having had my birthday HbA1c, at the end of November. This also happens to be the anniversary of my diagnosis.
The nurse is very pleased with my results and said it posed a dilemma as to whether or not I should still be on the books as a diabetic. I said there was no way I should be removed because I'm well controlled not cured. She agreed. She mentioned that my GP noted I should begin statins: I said "erm ... No" she said "I'm with you". Yaaaay
The point you will be most interested in is that the new policy is not to prescribe meters and strips (I'm assuming that's T2). I'm not too bothered about that because I rarely used it, preferring to find myself with Codefree.
I mentioned recent government/NHS murmurs about educating people about healthy eating and exercise. I explained that people aren't stupid and the government should be helping with mental and emotional problems which lead to eating disorders.
So there it is. I also mentioned meters were important, although I myself am happy to self fund. I volunteered my services if ever she wanted me to talk to others. I think sometimes people will listen to patients more than they will medics. I volunteered your services too ha ha. I explained you will be filed under B!!

Total cholesterol 5.5 (Sept was 5.3)
HDL 2.2 (Sept was 1.8)
LDL 3.0 (Sept was 3.2)
Trigs 0.58 (Sept was 0.6)
TC/HDL ratio 2.5 (Sept was 2.94)
Trigs/HDL ratio 0.19 (Sept was 0.33)
