What can T2 diabetics get for free?

Have I shot myself in the foot with free prescriptions by refusing medication and doing so well with the diet and exercise?

I wonder if my GP would buy my change of heart towards metformin, after all, I don't actually have to get the script made up...

I may have shot myself in the foot with the prescription thing, but I have just spoken to a very nice man at the Roche Accu-Chec Aviva customer care line (0800701000) who is sending me a FREE meter and all the gubbins that goes with it to transfer the data to the 'puter

Now I just have to do a bit of backpedalling with my GP. Lets hope I'm not doing too brilliantly when I see him on Monday :roll:
