You can save yourself by reusing lancets. I only change mine every few weeks.

It has been some time since this post, but of course it is a progressive illness, so on insulin, now changed to Lantus & Humalog from Humalog mix. Called iddt and they want my insulin. Good to know it may help prolong the life of someone less fortunate.
