Wow. Awesome. I just need to cut more.
Currently my breakfast to lunch is bulletproof coffee. Lunch is along the lines of a simple leafy salad with a little ham. And dinner is usual fare, meat and veg.
I still need to take insulin though, which is where my problem lies.
Sorry this went off topic.
Yes, this is an awesome venture. I hope it works
For now my BS tends to sit around 11ish. Which might lead me to think my basal needs upping. But I think that would lead me to hypos overnight. I too am surprised my BS isn't lower seeing how few carbs I eat. What are your sugar levels like eating that way? I'm a bit surprised that you're not low.
Am I correct in thinking your diagnosis is a bit uncertain at the moment?

As for the diagnosis, I was told I was a T2 then a T1. This I'm told that cannot be, so I could be a LADA or a IDT2 (this is the one I'm going with for now). I'm visiting my specialist in August and will bring up the subject then.
However, I'm not sure how much I trust their knowledge, as they want to put me on Statins!! My cholesterol is a smidge above average (it actually came down some from last year), but because I'm a diabetic and I'm getting older!!!, they still think I should go on them. Madness. They can keep that filth away from me!
sounds like a plan..Now you mention it I will email the specialist nurses and ask them to send me all my info, and find out about my diagnosis.
- The sustained enrollment and patient adherence that we saw at 70 days was maintained—82 percent continued enrollment at the one-year mark.
- Patient HbA1c improved further: 58% of patients in the Virta clinical trial achieved A1c below 6.5% at one year while taking no diabetes medications or metformin only.
- Use of medications continued to drop: insulin was reduced or halted in 97% of users.
- And body weight declined from baseline by an average of 13.6 percent. [2]
