If your blood sugars are falling very low you may need some of the medication reduced! You need a medication review with your doctor.

My dad never got the hang of his medication, especialy once he went on to insulin, and would eat to compensate for lower numbers - it didn't do him any favours at all :?

I concur on the medicine review. Metformin doesn't drop BG that fast or that much. You might ask you HCteam if you could have 2X 500mg Metformin and split the dose.

I'm not a type 2, but surely it's the gliclizide which is stimulating your pancreas to produce the additional insulin and lowering your bg levels? If you are able to come off that and reduce the stress on your pancreas, that could only be a good thing?

Agai i agree
I took Gliclazide for about 3 years. I've stopped and I'm fine on reduced carbs and the Metformin. I couldn't lose weightt on tha gliclazide, so I lost about 40pounds. I need to lose as much again.
