Hi there, I have Type 1 Diabetes and have done for over 7 years. My BS has been good over the past year since attaending a DAFNE course. Recently I have been waking up with either pins and needles in my hands or my toes. Generally this happens if I'm low (4.5 or below) on a morning, however the last few times it's happened my bloods on a morning are between 5 - 8. Strangely if I wake up with high BS, anything above 9, I don't get the pins and needles. Has anyone had similar problems before? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've not experienced this, other than when I have been lying awkwardly (often on my hand). I'm bumping this up a bit to see if anyone else has any experience.

@hewjameson, why don't you mention this to your gp or diabetes team and see what they think is causing the pins & needles, it may be diabetes related but there again it may not.
