Good evening all.

I'm new to this forum but would welcome your support. I've been shortlisted down to the final 4 to win a place in the Paris marathon to attempt to run it in under 3 hours. Along the way I'd get support from the Asics team. This would be an amazing opportunity to me and something that I should be realistically able to achieve having run 03:04 in London this year.

If you click on the link you can read more about me on my profile. Voting will only take 5 seconds and there is no need to give any details or sign up for anything. You can even vote every day if you're keen. The competition closes on Wednesday lunchtime.

I'm a type 1.5 diabetic, and was diagnosed with diabetes 12 years ago at the age of 24. I've got into running in the last 3 years, and have really benefitted from it helping me loose weight and keep fit. I'd be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about me, my running or the comptetition.

Thanks in advance.

Pete

Done,

if you get sub-3 , that's a bloody good marathon.
I'd be nearer 3:40 I think, maybe pushing 3:30.

I've voted huni. In total awe of anyone who runs as I can barely walk due to knackered knees. Hope you get to go & get an awesome time. Good luck

Thanks Dave. I managed to run 3:04 at London this year, but realise it'll take a lot of training to take 10 minutes off that. I look forward to reading your blog.
Smartlady - Thanks for your vote. It's much appreciated.

I looked at your post thinking it might have some tips for exercising etc, instead its an interesting account of your get up and go. Well done hope you get through, ive also voted for you.

I've voted for you too. The reason? Because you've run for cancer charities, OH and I lost all 4 of our parents to cancer . But you're diabetic too which helps the decision
