Hi everyone,
New to the forum and just looking to see if anyone has had any success in getting into police Scotland. (I have had a search on the forum and can only find older posts and mainly based on England and Wales. Also Google hasn't been much help either)
I'm a type 1 diabetic and I'm in the middle of applying if I get through all the stages I just wondered what to expect for the medical and what might stop me joining as a diabetic!
Thanks
Recruitment and retention of people with diabetes in the police, fire and ambulance services should now be subject to individual medical assessment. However the UK armed forces are exempt from the Equality Act and can operate a blanket ban on the recruitment of people with diabetes. https://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to-diabetes/Living_with_diabetes/Employment/
Thank you! It's just a worry at the back of my head that they can say no because of it.
Just wondering if anyone has been through it.
Put it off for a while due to my diabetes going to do it anyway
