I think this is often treated with steroids. If that's the case for you, the treatment of your diabetes may need to be adjusted, steroids tend to raise blood glucose.
It's worth doing a search on the forum on polymyalgia rheumatica through the search bar at the top right of your screen, there are quite a few posts about it.
My understanding is that Prednisolone can affect blood glucose control, but shouldn't be too much of a problem at that dosage. My father in law had GCA which is related to and overlaps with PMR, he started on 12 tablets a day! . At that level many more side effects are almost guaranteed. At 15mg i should think a small adjustment will be needed, but that depends on how you deal with your diabetes.
I have prednisolone induced diabetes as preds can increase blood sugar levels I have found it necessary to be extra vigilant with the carbs I eat in order to control blood sugar levels as much as possible.
