Poor night vision

Hello,

I have been diagnosed for almost 2 years and have very good control if using HBA1C as a measure.

I have had a few eye floaters constantly since just before diagnosis but over the last week or so, I have noticed that I have very poor night vision when in complete darkness. Also it takes awhile for my vision to return to normal when coming in from sunshine into a darker room.

I am due my next eye screening in December, but my last one showed up as clear. Has anybody else had similar symptoms? What is it likely to be?

Many thanks

Martin

Hi @Martin864,

Not going to speculate on what may/may not be wrong.

There are numerous diabetic and non diabetic issues which can effect the eyes.

I strongly recommend you go and see an optometrist/opthalmist. As a diabetic, you are entitled to free eye checks.

They will be able to check for other eye issues, AND they also take photos of the retina. I had my retinas photographed and shown to me at a specsavers last month.

Get this (optician visit) done in the interim, and then have your dilated pupil examination in December.
