I have mitochondrial diabetes, I was diagnosed at 36, and am now 49. I low carbed for the first seven years, then introduced carbs back in when I started on insulin. This past week I’ve been having tingling in one foot, and slight numbness in both hands, my A1c is 5.6, and I’m well-controlled, but could this be the start of peripheral neuropathy? I honestly didn’t think I would be dealing with this after only 13 years of well controlled diabetes. Could it be something else, as it’s come on so quickly?
