Post covid resistance

Hi
I was admitted to hospital with covid and dka over Christmas. I was previously taking metformin and Gliclazide before being admitted. During my stay I was given insulin to control my glucose and am now reliant on insulin.

My concern is that I am taking far more rapid acting insulin to keep my numbers sensible than I should. It's taking approx 3 to 4 units to drop me 1mml and about the same to compensate for 10g of carbs.

I am awaiting a follow up with the consultant but was wondering if anyone has had similar experience.
Thanks
Gareth
