Prediabetes and Changing lifestyle

Grannie75,

Can you elucidate regarding the keto rash, since I think I may have it. Extremely itchy.....

I have a rash on my stomach and back that seems very red, hot and itchy. I have tried many creams and potions but the best for me is coconut oil and this seems to relieve the itching . It is nowhere near as bad now as it was in the beginning and now just comes and goes, but knowing what it is helps as I know I am doing my diet correctly. I found help on Diet Doctor where many people describe their symptoms and I realised I was not alone. If it gets too much just up the carbs for a few days and it will go away, but it comes straight back again as soon as you drop the carb intake.

Well i am on day 5 and already feel better in myself...palpitations have gone (thanks for the advice).
MFP is helping although i am a little too high on fats and little under on carbs and protein. Will get there though.
Weigh in on Monday so will see how i am doing.
Thanks all for your support

Thank you for the pointer. I am fairly certain that is what I have. This forum really is a font of knowledge. Didn't even think that it could be related to LCHF.

FYI I also found this website.

Many thanks, it makes interesting reading. I find that I can control the rash myself as I put up with it for as long as I can and then adjust the carbs for a few days peace, however I really don't find it as bad as it used to be. ( unless of course I have found the middle ground and can keep the symptoms at an acceptable level)

I am also using MFP and have adjusted the fats and carbs and protein ratios to accommodate my low carbing lifestyle.
