Hey
@Kagamine
Have you done anything different to usual over the last 24 hours?
A few things can cause a delayed lower BG. The two obvious ones are
- Drinking. As our livers consider alcohol as poison, it deals with getting rid of this as a priority. During this time, it does not drip glucose into our blood stream. As a result, we have less glucose to be mopped up with our basal insulin. This can cause a low BG for 24 to 48 hours.
- Exercise. When we exercise, out liver dumps a tonne of glucose into our blood stream to give us the energy we need. As a result, our glucose stores within our liver is reduced. This affects our BG in two ways: we have less glucose to drip throughout te day and our liver "steals" more of the glucose from the food we eat.
There are a couple of ways to manage this situation:
- if we know it is going to happen, we can reduce our basal insulin.
- if we do not know, we need to consume more carbs than usual. Don't go overboard but perhaps drink a weak fruit juice (with added water) or milk throughout the day
If you are still experiencing this come night time, you may want to set an alarm to test throughout the night.
I hope you are sorted out soon.
And don't worry about your English. I have read much worse from native English speaker
