Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a bit of advice please, I'll try to keep the post short!
My bg was 30 when I was first diagnosed.
It went down to around 22 quite quickly, then settled at 14ish with the addition of Gliclazide to Metformin.
After many months, I was given Invokana as well, which took the bg to around 12.
My diabetes nurse said that having had such a high level for so long, I could start feeling as if I was having a hypo at first if my bg went below 10.
3 weeks ago I started a new eating regime, along the lines of Slimming World, with unlimited fruit, veg, meat, fish (rice, pasta and potato also freely allowed)
Anyway, over the last three days I've felt a bit low at night and my bg has been between 8:0 and 6:9, which is great. However, for me this is unusually low and I am a bit concerned about having a hypo overnight.
My question is:
What would you suggest I could have to eat before I go to bed?!
(A weetabix with hot water at 2am was not the ideal choice last night!)
Thank you. I really appreciate any ideas.

Probably best to talk to your doctor or diabetic nurse.

I was under the impression that these 'fake' hypos did not need to be treated as they were not in themselves dangerous, but if for example the fake hypos stop you from sleeping, then it is not a good idea to drive if you feeling tired and/or confused.

If you need to eat something, then all I can say is that when I was first diagnosed and warned about the dangers of going to bed low, I was told that I should try eating a digestive biscuit or if that was too much, a half of one.

Thank you, SGM14, for taking the time to reply.
I've only started to think about this since my bg has (eventually) come down to within normal levels, which I haven't got used to seeing come up on the monitor yet!
Thanks again, appreciate your time.
