I hope you can help. I am looking into pumps for the first time and am wondering: can they be detached for (contact) sports? Is there a risk they might fall off during sleep? If you have reasonably good control (and a CGM), what différence does a pump really make?

Tubed pumps, such as T:slim, can be detached for sport and showers.
There are other pumps that do not need removing. Pumps do not fall off during sleep.
I see from your previous posts that your son was age 16 in 2018, which means that he will now be cared for by the hospital team that looks after adult diabetics. Has the hospital team offered him a choice of pumps?
Hello, thanks for your response. He no longer lives on the UK and the healthcare team are not supportive of a pump as his levels are good, so we have decided to start looking at options ourselves…
