I’m due to have an upgrade for my pump in April. At the moment I’m on a Roche pump with the pre filled cartridges. My health care provider has told me that due to a downloading problem they aren’t continuing with it anymore. They’ve given me several choices and after much deliberation I’ve decided to go with the omnipod. I’ve gone on their website to see what's involved and so far it looks good. The only thing is I’m concerned about the problems I might have with it. Does anyone else use this pump and does anyone have any problems? Thanks.x
@Mel dCP has been on the Omnipod for a time and knows that pump very well.
But just as a check, did you have any questions about any of the other pumps on offer to you?
Hi @Mel dCP. Yes I did, but I’m fed up with catching my line and feel like a change. I do wear a CGM sensor and I love it. I go swimming with my daughter and have to take my pump off to go into the water and it drives me nuts!!! Do you have any problems with the omnipod?x
Hi, I love my pod. I’d resisted a pump for years because of tubes, so it's perfect for me. I can stick it pretty much anywhere, and often forget where, it’s so unobtrusive - doesn’t feel like I’m wearing a pump at all. It’s really simple to change, takes around three minutes tops. The only downside is that the controller is a bit clunky, but they’re being upgraded this year to a touchscreen job
