Pumper needing some advice

I am a type 1 pumper and have recently decided to try to drop a little weight using calorie counting method. Part of the calorie reduction has included cutting back on carbs somewhat although I am still eating the same breakfast of porridge with blueberries/raspberries. I only started dieting a week ago, but after a couple of days started hypoing post meals. I am confident with carb counting, know my basal is accurate through lots of basal rate testing and I don’t snack between meals. Today I have cut my basal by 50 % and bolus by 40 %, this then resulted in slightly high reading. This evening I cut bolus by 10 % and still hypoed. I haven’t lost significant weight yet and fear this is unlikely with the rate of jelly babies I have been consuming so ratios should still be ok. I am dumbfounded as to what is causing this. My activities have not changed so I am just wondering if cutting back on some carbs is causing more insulin sensitivity or is it something else? Has anyone else had the same issue and can you advise me as to potential cause and possible fix for this or should I just contact DSN?

Yes, cutting back on carbs lowers your insulin needs and sometimes by a lot. You'll likely need to re-evaluate your basals and carb ratios.

Ok thanks, have had to reduce by 40% so far. Interestingly, I also called DSN and they had no idea. Wasn’t so helpful!
