Hi fellow members of the needle club.

I have had T1 Diabetes for 8 years now and haven't had much in the way of complications. However, yesterday I took of my socks after a fairly long day walking around and two of my toes on my right foot had GONE PURPLE! I check my feet quite often so this must have happened within the previous 24 hours. I am planning on seeing my GP tomorrow morning but wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this and knows how I should react?

Just so you have the details: there is no pain, swelling or abnormal temperature at play here. It is not a bruise nor a stain from my shoes or something. It is the small toe and the one next to it on my right foot that are affected - no symmetry on the left foot is apparent. The discolouration isn't all over the toes but on the parts of them that a flat on the ground when I stand. They are roughly 35% purple by surface area. I have mild neuropathy on the tips of my toes but nothing to write home about. My control has not been that great in recent weeks/months but I am taking steps to address this and am seeing results.

Any advice would be welcome - I want to get on top of this and look after my feet! I use them like all the time after all...

Thanks
