Hello. I'm having a fasting blood test at the Hospital this week. Can you tell me if this one is accrete? I have the glucose one once a year, is this fasting blood test as good as that? My Doctor said its better.

I am a bit confused. (easily done!) Is your once a year one the HbA1c test?

Is this hospital fasting blood test for glucose levels, or for some other reason such as cholesterol or liver function.

@Lilliepop, As an explaination :
A fasting BG test would give you a spot value for your BG at that point in time.
A HbA1c gives you an average for the last ~120 days , weighted to the end of the time.
If the fasting blood test is for cholesterol, then it should give you values for Total cholesterol, HDL, Triglycerides and a calculated value for LDL
All are best for their individual purpose and togther help analyze your progress!

I am having one for cholestro but also for Blood Gloucose that is the one i specifically ask for. We shall see. I surpose if its high I would have to have my HbA1c earlier. Thanks
