sorry, I don't really have a clue when it comes to reading the nutritional information but is it right that I should be counting this as 3g of carbs? So theoretically it shouldn't really alter my levels? (Unless the protein bumps it up a little?)
Yes the net carbohydrates is equal 3 grams. The protein will also contribute to the blood glucose. In any event its best to test this product by "eating to your meter" ie eat one and test your BG before and after as we all react differently.
Not an especially clear label. If I had just looked at the label in the black and white bits I would have put that as 22g of CHO per serving there.
I don't get how the label nutritional facts at 22g end up being 3g net carbs in red.
The erythritol is not counted as a carbohydrate but as a polyol , so its 22- 17-2 =3. Still, thats why its best to test according to your meter, which will give the real result to the consumer.
