hi everyone
We tested our 2yr old tonight and she was 2.2 but wasn't showing any signs of low blood sugar, so we tested another finger 30seconds after the first at which she was 10.7. We then tested on the opposite hand and she was 10 (all within the space of a minute or so). Clean hands obviously and wiped blood first, strips from same batch.
Any ideas why it was out by 8? Concerns me a little. I've personally had it the other way where I'm higher then go low quite quickly but not this way and not within such a short space of time. Thanks
I know you're experienced and you know how to put blood on a strip, but we all have our moments (especially if you are trying to coral a 2 year old into testing) & I know if I don't get the blood on in one continuous gulp it can cause anomalous low readings. I reckon it's more likely to be an off test rather than she magically jumped from 2 to 10, especially if she didn't seem low to you.

You will have to forgive me.. I think I get it now.. (I also have any signatures turned off under user posts.)
Your 2 year old is actually the T1?
Misread the title I thought random on an undiagnosed "norm"..
Been a long day..
I'm in agreement with @catapillar now.. Take the two higher readings. You know your own kid!
Edit. If it's an Acu-chek Mobile meter subtract 5%.
