7.3 when waking. Felt a little odd last night after my meal awoke this morning and still not right so took a random pre- breakfast test of 7.3 is this ok for a pre diabetic?
A random test will tell you little. Your reading could be down to anything, liver dump, the recent heat wave, poor sleep, infection etc etc.
A high of 7.3 may even be a rogue reading. It is better to test in an organised fashion to look for patterns as well as record your reactions to the foods you are eating. The reading isn't scarily high but it is better to try and get it lower if you can.

Thanks Helen, it was my first real concerning moment after nearly 2 months of diet control - someone gradually sneaked in a few baked potatoes for my dinners and a slice of turkey
