Random: what time do you stop eating at night?

I'm just wondering. I always seem to eat late and wonder if that affects my fasting bg...

I eat about 6 ish and that is our main meal. I'd rather eat mine at lunchtime but Mr E can't work on full stomach so it is set in stone now. I do find a heavy or later evening meal impacts on my fasting test.

Whilst I know if I eat very late, there is a change my fasting level will be elevated, it's not usually significant. I would say a more significant factor for me in what I eat, when I eat later. Lots of protein takes longer to reduce.

In a recent 24 hour, hourly testing experiment, I found that late evening, through the night to early morning, my bloods moved a round a bit. I had a couple of lows in the night, then slight rises. To be fair though, my graphs have very, very few material spikes. My OH often remarks they look extremely boring. I take great reassurance from that!

I'm going to repeat the overnight testing some time before Mr B comes back to UK, to minimise on the silent (or not so silent) grumpiness in the night time.

I'd love a CGM, and am waiting for the new Abbott solution to appear with interest. If it was viable to "invest" for a period of close monitoring, I might just bite the bullet.

Are your current findings differing from what you experienced last time you started low-carbing?

Thanks guys.

My bg is being really weird but I have been naughty and there are some inconsistencies so they may not be directly comparable. That said, I think I was hoping to be in lower 6s by now....now school's back on, we'll get back into a better routine so I'm hoping it's gone down in the next couple of weeks.

Last time I switched to low carbing, it took a while but initial readings were lower.

I hope I've not pushed myself over the cliff by carb binges over the holidays. Surely a few weeks of bad stuff wouldn't undo everything so quickly?

Doc offered me metformin, but I refused. We'll review in three months...

I do think I need to eat earlier, but I like having something to enjoy on my own as the kids are at me all day. That'll change soon too!
