Sorry don't write many posts, I have been ill since before Christmas. I just put it down to the cold weather been feeling a little depressed lately too went to the doctor on Monday and she didn't seem concerned and sent me away saying to book a blood test, feeling increasingly horrible I went back to the doctor last night and she took me more seriously and has diagnosed bronchitis and given me antibiotics and anti depressants. She has also signed me off work as I work outside stating that I won't get better getting wet and cold all the time, problem is my boss has told me I'm not good to him now and good bye. I have no idea what to do now or where to go for help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Let's wait for the blood test results. We're (none of us) are not qualified to offer any other opinions .... but I have to ask why you are on this forum unless you've been diagnosed with diabetes or you believe you have many of the symptons.

However if you are unwell that is not unexpected. Are you in the UK and if so, under what contract are you employed?

Under normal circumstances, under employment law, you are not allowed to fire someone for being off sick - please see: http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/e_sickness_at_work.pdf

I suggest you contact your Citizen's Advice Bureau.

Are you aware of sick day rules that need to be taken into account? Also be aware that taking antibiotics can play on your blood sugars, as well as anti-depressants affecting your blood sugars, in addition to the general stress of being ill messing with your blood sugars! There's a chance you may need to make dose adjustments and you should work alongside your practitioner with this. As always, make sure you are regularly testing. Tell me if this helps!

That is a shame about your bosses attitude, with you being self-employed I'm not sure where you stand on this and whether you had a contract of employment with your employer, the best people to ask for advice is the Citizens Advice.
