Reasons to get tested for diabetes?

Try google for starters. Thirst, tiredness, lethargy are but three but not common to all diabetics that is for certain. Some present no symptoms, but many do

I had no symptoms and it was discovered by chance following blood tests for another, totally unrelated, condition
 
Diagnosed via routine 6 monthly checkup blood test. I've always drunk a lot, and my 5-6 years worth of debilitating zombie like tiredness/lethargy (which vanished after diagnosis and starting an LCHF diet) had previously been dismissed by GP as being due to my weight.

I woke up one night with full body pins and needles.. had a vague idea what it might be.. was quite large and had been told I was prediabetic but infuriatingly not what to do about it by GP.
 
I had no symptoms either, though in hindsight I was eating more, which might have been a symptom or cause. I only got diagnose as a result of a routine annual blood test.
 
A female friend of mine had been feeling a little unwell over time and one day, whilst out, her eyesight was very blurry and she felt as though she would collapse, tested and type 2 diabetes.

There's a list:
Bathroom 7 times a night - typically every 45 minutes, and constantly through the day
Waistline (48 inches plus)
Neck size 19 inches and growing
Weight 23 stone - ex strength athlete but who was I kidding. i was fat!
Addicted to eating ****.
That came to a head on the 5th October 2015
So far:
weight loss 90lbs
wasit loss 10 inches - as of today
neck size - lost at least an inch
Nightime bathroom trips: sometimes 0ne, sometimes none
Blood pressure now 100/70 (It's been many years since it was good, let alone that good.
Resting heart beat 60 bpm.
Blood sugar control - good and getting better
Diet: fanatical/ hard core.

You look new (points etc). Good luck
 
I had no symptoms at all. I was diagnosed following a routine OAP check up.

If you suspect something is wrong, go to your doctor and ask for a blood test. The sooner the better.
 
Blood test requested by my Neurologist.

I don't know why you have asked this question but if you have concerns for your health I think it would be best to raise them with your doctor.
 
Eating everything and loosing weight 13/14KG in 12 months
Gettting up 3 times a night for a ****
Loosing Eye sight failing, it went up +3.0 in 6 months
Drinking pints of water at a time
 
Well any way for me is was telling my doctor I was losing the feeling in my right foot which prompted him to say I wonder what that is could be connected to your Myasthenia Gravis why don't you ask your neurologist when next you see him which I did which prompted him to ask for blood tests which in turn prompted him to write to my GP which prompted him to totally ignore the letter and do nothing.

Good to know we are in safe hands. Gives you a kind of warm comfy glow doesn't it. My doctor promised to phone me before I went away if there was a problem with my cholesterol results. Heard nothing. Naturally thought must be okay. Today letter arrives to ring and speak to her. She's not there and no appointments to see her for a couple of weeks.
