Reduced lymphocytes

Hi. My husband has Type II diabetes and has just had blood tests prior to his check up with the nurse. Last year the results showed he had low sodium. Got lots of help from you lovely people when I posted. Luckily re test was OK. So this year he had his bloods taken at our surgery and sent off on 2/1/24. Just a few days earlier we had been with our daughters who both tested positive for Covid the following day. Luckily we have been Covid free. My question is we had a text on Friday from the surgery saying his lymphocytes were reduced and he needed another FBC. Receptionist said this should take place at the hospital as samples taken at the surgery don't reach the path lab very quickly. I'm really worried about this and just wondered if it's happened to anyone else and why they should be low and is there anything we can do whilst waiting for the re test in just over a week's time. Thanks for reading.

I suspect that it could be as simple as having been in contact with covid his level has dropped as his system is killing of the invaders, having stopped him being infected. I would wait for the retest, and try not to worry about it. My Lymphocyte levels have been raised for about 8 years now, finally they accept that it just seems to be normal for me, having had normal levels up to 8 years ago.
