related to diabetes?

FOOTBALL. MY husband is a sports fanatic and watches everything. Most i can put up with just not football.
I dont know if this is related to diabetes or not. Does anyone suffer from rotten eggy/sulphur belching? I know this sounds discusting its driving me mad. I have done research but keep drawing a blank. It started for me when I started taking the dreaded 'Metfartin' Metformin and it makes me feel quite sick and is more noticeable in the morning.I'm assuming it's related to that but it's really unpleasant to say the least!!
 
YAY! I'm not alone here Although i'm sure mines not related to metformin. Since i went to glucophage in November i haven't had any more tummy troubles that way. I keep reading it could be related to gallstones but i had mine out last week.
 
Gallstones!! :shock:
I better do some research in to that as I had them last year which led to pancreatitis as well which felt like my abdomen and back had been trod on by a horse!! :thumbdown:
Sure hope its the Metformin and not the dreaded stones again! :think:
 
I had the same pancreatitis as well. I had a phone call yesterday from the hospital checking if everything was ok. She told me to have bloods done again coz i might still have pancreatitis. To be honest i dont feel much different having gallstones out. Still hurting. Makes me wonder though if it is conected.
 
It still worries me about it coming back but I guess I'll know more in April as my consultant has organised a CT scan for then to check on everything before he'll do a colostomy reversal on me.He doesn't know yet that I'm diabetic so I hope he won't change his mind when he finds out! :|
 
Why would he change his mind? Most diabetics can lead a reasonably normal life. I'm surprised they didn't remove your gallbladder. They tend to do it routinely now as they've sed that if you've had it once you are more likely to get it again at some point.
 
I guess i'm worried because I have heard of certain consultants not wanting to do high risk operations if the patient has uncontrolled diabetes due to the increased risk of complications and I am uncontrolled at present,low carb and metformin i'm still getting higher readings each week(Over 33mmol/l yesterday) and although I'm seeing the 'NHS programmed robot nurse' tommorow I don't hold out much hope of getting anywhere with her.
They didn't remove my gallbladder as I passed all the stones eventually into my stoma bag!!{sorry to be crude} :lol:
 
Now dont take this the wrong way but i hope they find some so they can remove your bladder once and for all. After hearing about it reaccuring you dont need to be going through that as well. My turn to be crude but did you get to see the stones :?: I asked to keep my but they said it get sent straight to the labs. :cry:
